Rustic Lodge Furniture

When you are furnishing your lodge with rustic furniture, you will probably think first of the dining furniture, the main bed, and living room sofa and armchairs. Those are the essentials, of course, but you may well want to add a few other items to complete your rustic decor theme.

If the lodge is used in all weathers and all seasons, then there will no doubt be a need for wearing coats and jackets at some time. A handily placed coat stand just inside the front door will serve a very useful purpose, but can also be a decorous addition to your rustic decor if you choose well. The rustic coat stand shown left has a bear and tree design that will fit well with an overall rustic theme. You can find others that are made from wrought iron and other rustic materials. Alternatively, you can choose coat hooks that may have a country theme, such as bears or deer antlers.

 

Apart from the dining table, you will probably like to have some small tables scattered around for use indoors or out on the terrace. If you are lucky, you may find some quite unusual designs made especially for the lodge. The small table pictured left is quite obviously a bear. What is not so obvious, though, is that it is not carved out of wood as it appears, but is made from heavy resin, with a glass top.

On fine days you may like to sit outside on the terrace or in the porch and have a coffee, or something a little stronger. At such times some small tables on which to place those drinks will be very useful, and can easily be made to fit in with a rustic decor theme.

 

The tables shown above left are in black birch, while those on the left are in a light birch. Both are very attractive sets that can be used indoors or outside. With the choice of birch colour, it is easier to find something to fit in with the rest of your decor.

All these items can blend in nicely with your main rustic lodge furniture if you are careful with your choice, plus other key items of your decor such as the rustic lighting. Taken together, you create a warm country ambience with a touch of subdued luxury included.
